PZO MST-131

is an instrument for spatial observation of samples at low magnifications from 4× to 100×. The stereomicroscope can be used for scientific investigations and sample preparation as well as for work in workshops and laboratories.

The optical equipment of the MST-131 stereomicroscope consists of achromatic objectives placed in a central rotating turret and a main collecting optic, which, in combination with 6.3× eyepieces, allows to achieve a basic magnification of 4 - 25× and, when using 25× eyepieces, a total magnification of 16 - 100×. The field of view ranges from 44 mm (4× magnification) to 2 mm (100× magnification).

The special advantages of this type of microscope are:

quick change of magnification, which is made by turning the central drum turret containing built-in objectives with magnification 0.63×; 1.0×; 1.6×; 2.5×; 4×

the large invariable working distance of the lenses (approximately 100 mm), which allows comfortable work, especially when preparing to make slides

new design of the optical system, which provides a large field of view of up to 44 mm

The stereomicroscope offers an adjustable mirror in the lower base to allow illumination for viewing in transmitted light, as well as an articulating arm that can be used to adjust the illuminator to a position that provides illumination of the object being observed. This illuminator is equipped with a condenser, an iris diaphragm and a blue matte filter to provide a pleasing, even illumination of the object being observed.

There were also a number of accessories for this stereomicroscope in the form of a microphotographic attachment, a measuring eyepiece, a micrometer-sliding stage, an angularly adjustable 3D stage, a drawing projection eyepiece, and additional side plates for under the arms to allow for more comfortable handling of the specimens while working.
